Just because something is SAID to be unreachable doesnt mean it really is. When you were a kid you couldnt reach the top of the fridge. Now do you have that problem? The same goes for this. as our knowledge of the situation grows so does our understanding on how to overcome it. When i was a kid i went and got a stool so i could reach. Now im looking for a glitch to where i can reach this land.

I hate to say it, because I think it's fun trying to reach areas that are really not meant to be reachable, but in guild wars they seem to have pretty much total ability to block players. Compare it to a game like WoW, if you've played that. In GW there are invisible wall type areas everywhere, it's basically just the way the game is designed. You can't jump, you can't run down mountains, they have total control to confine you to a certain path if that is what they want. In WoW, there are basically no invisible walls. If they want to block you, they just make a mountain too steep to climb, for instance, but there is not an actual "invisible wall" blocking you. In that case you may overcome it and reach an area not intended to be reached. But in guild wars, it's just a different system, and I'm afraid to say that it's impossible to get around. Good luck, I think it would be awesome if you could find a way to reach these areas, but my opinion is it isn't possible.

Some lost land like the very old glitch of granite citadel, when you could go past the portal into Tasca's Demise without zoning and eventuall ygoing to the end of the world (proof that its flat)

A 'white block' is simply an item in the game that you have not downloaded the texture and wireframe for. It might not necessarily be an actual item as in piece of equipment, all I mean here is a visual object that shows up in-game that you have not downloaded the information for. Thus if you do not have factions and have never downloaded the item skins from factions if you trade for an item in an explorable zone that was not equipped when you zoned in and then you equip it you will see a big white block. The next time you zone the game will download the file for that particular item and then what you see will not be a white block.

Now, if you actually have an item that despite the fact that you have zoned with it on your possession it remains a white block I would be very interested to know. Simply put, if such an item exists, it would be an item which has no wireframe/texture to download at all. And it wouldn't be the first anomalous item I know to exist in the game, though it could be the weirdest -- for example, I know of a Dwarven Axe with +15% damage always that still exists and a Fiery Dragon Sword with +5 Energy which still exists and I've heard rumors about a 44% Axe surviving the nerf through crafty maneuvering and so on and so forth. I wouldn't be terribly surprised if you did have an anomalous item there. But you have to supply proof. You can't just say that you've got this crazy white block and give no screenshots and no proof.

About the lost land... It is very possible that parts of maps were simply chopped off with the final pass through of the game's creation. If you can find a way to get there then more power to you. Don't get your hopes up though.

My personal favorite 'lost land' is in Dragon's Lair. On the zone portal to the Tomb of Primeval Kings if you hug the left wall very tightly you can get past the portal and into the ToPK zone while still being in the Dragon's Lair. You of course encounter the "end of the world" flatness after a short bit, but if you run all the way to the end of this little area and you look way off in the distance you can see... a fort from the shiverpeaks! You can't really make out any details but it's definitely mountainous, definitely snowy, and definitely has a fortified wooden wall facing you.

Check it out for yourself!

Could you take a Necro and kill the troll, then use Necrotic Traversal to "warp" to it's location?

That wont work unless arena net changes it from "shadow step" to "teleport". Currently, shadow step only moves you to areas you can walk to. This means you can't go through gates and barriers that are preventing you from getting somewhere.

If you can get past lvl 20, it is either a glitch that very, very, very few people know, or a hack(I don't think that is even possible with GW) or something similar to those two. You are not meant to go past lvl 20 in this game, ever.

And with the lost world, maybe its something like the tomb of the dragon's lair glitch, which someone mentions a few posts before mine?

Anyway, if you find a area that we are not meant to get to or another area that seems like we might be able to go there, please post it. This is very interesting, even if it might be pointless.

Wow, sounds really interesting. And I love a good mystery/adventure. But I have to admit, the OP is already showing characteristics of a scammer. One thing would be the lack of screen shot. But none the less, I'll be on tomorrow and I'll hit you up and try to help.

They did fix it, but I'm going to try this out tonight and let you know what exactly this place is, it could just be a hunt for nothing, it could be something.

Although Necrotic Traversal does work, your destination is actually tranversed during the warp and you end up where you started from, passing it as you go through. Be careful though, I am pretty sure I lost 19 ectos during the warp.

I absolutely love the idea that there is something undiscovered out there in the big wide world that is Guild Wars.

My ranger has Grandmaster Cartographer on both continents so I am well aware that there are quite a few places that look like they should be accessible or look like they should DO something if only you knew exactly what to do. For example, in the Ice Cave in Mineral Springs, there are the strange radar dish shaped devices pointing to a dome in the ceiling that looks like it should open.

There are also the places that you can get to but probably should not be able to, like up near the Ice Dome in Shiverpeaks, where you can climb and climb into the mountains until you reach the edge of the world.

I am also amazed that there are no real Easter Eggs in a game as massive as Guild Wars. Anyone remember the hidden chicken level in Dungeon Siege 1?

Yes, there are the clever character names and the skill names that reference films etc. (for example None Shall Pass and several other references to the Black Knight sketch from Monty Python and the Holy Grail) but there is nothing that I would really class as an Easter Egg.

The Gwen “mystery” has been done to death so many times on the forums that we know it is extremely unlikely to be anything more than an unfinished quest that the designers decided not to remove once it turned into a kind of in game legend.

I would love to be the person who found something hidden away that no one had ever found before, but would also just love to hear that someone else had found something previously undiscovered after all this time.

I have had the white boxes...I did take some screenshots at the time...it was in Kaineng and Cavalon, Devona and other random players were just moving white blocks...quite funny. I shut down the game since I thought something was wrong and when I started it back up I got a string of several error code=007, restarted the PV and then it took about 15 minutes "repairing the data archive"...everything is fine now.

That is not entirely true...
http://mikes-machine.mine.nu/temp/si...ttheworld2.jpg
That's a real screenshot.

There are, or have been, many such areas in GW where you could get to places you were not supposed to. The one in the screenshot is in the Shiverpeaks, but you can e.g. get into the Charr Staging Area of the North Gate mission, and earlier it was possible to sneak into some towns without passing through the town portal. ANet tends to stop access to such areas if they are buggy or possible to exploit (e.g. you could stand on the ramparts of Beacons Perch and shoot at the ice imps below).

Then there are areas most people have probably not seen, such as the vast & empty desert area east of Dunes of Despair (reachable through a narrow passage), the "secret" area next to Ranik in pre-searing, or the area where Rurik solo-farms Stone Summit in the Frost Gate mission (reachable with Necrotic Traversal).

In games as big & complex such as GW, there are also areas which were made, or at least started, but for whatever reason removed from the game. There's the old PvP arenas, and very likely other. It is not entirely impossible that there are obsolete areas which it is still possible to access.

As for easter eggs... the only one I know of is... well, I know of two. Do a search for "Baptiste said full chakra", and have you ever tried standing by the locked treasure room in Kaineng Center and pressed Z?

EDIT: Oh, and my favorite two 'mysteries' in GW, is the temple with 5 blocked teleports in Flame Temple Corridor, and the circle of standing stones in Talmark Wilderness. Obviously they were originally intended to do something/be something/lead somewhere... but don't. Jogs my imagination, that does.

I knew about the Mhenlo one, but have never tried the Z at Kaineng. I'll do that when I get home tonight :-) Thanks!
